Singing Christmas songs

I had to post this one too of Andrea and Elizabeth sing Christmas songs.

Christmas spirit

We were just hanging out on a Sunday evening on the floor together as
a family reading Christmas scriptures and I thought this was a cute
picture to take by the Christmas tree. You gotta capture moments like
this when everyone is getting along and having fun. Kids grow up so
fast.

Basketball game with Kevin

We went to a basketball game today just me and Kevin. It was tons of
fun. The girls went to Disney on Ice.

Daddy daughter dance

We had a daddy daughter date at church tonight. It was a 50's dance. I took Elena and she got all dressed up like the 50's. I gelled my hair and put on clothes kinda like the 50's (except for my old letterman's jacket which I hadn't worn since high school. It was a blast.

This is our neighborhood, with a beautiful view of the mountain.

Primary program

Our girls are in the primary program in church today. They dressed up
sooooo cute so I took a picture to post. I'll post one from Andrea and
one from Elizabeth.

Visit to CNN and Turner Broadcasting

So I went to CNN today to make connections for our students and they
took me onto the various sets as they were broadcasting. So I snapped
this shot of Chuck Roberts from Headline News doing his thing. It was
a fun and productive visit.

Tribute to Nanny

This post is a tribute to Nanny, a good friend of our family who passed away this morning. We will miss her terribly and send our thoughts and prayers to her family in this difficult time. We know she is in a better place and is as feisty as ever there. I am proud to have been "her bishop". Our daughter Elena had a special relationship with Nanny, as seen in this picture we took in July at the nursing home. I am going to her funeral this Friday. Elena asked if she could come too, but we can't have her missing school for that whole time. Elena sends her love to Nanny's family too.

Out with Elizabeth

Well Elisa had to get her drivers license renewed today. So I took off
work and took Elizabeth out to lunch. We went to the Iceberg and she
loved her meal. She especially loved the ice cream! We had a great
time together.

Rainbow

Kevin had a soccer game today and it was raining the whole time.
However this cool rainbow came out and I had to post a shot of it.

Mountain golf

My department had a retreat in the mountains recently. We had a golf
tournament before the meetings started and on the course we saw these
deer crossing the fairway. It was a doe and her two small fawns. They
were really close and couldn't care less that we were there. It was
really cool. By the way, it was 45 degrees at 6:30 in the morning when
we started.

Millshake fun

We went to my grandpa's house to pick vegetables yesterday and also
got fresh strawberries. I got just enough to make milkshakes today.
Elizabeth really liked the shake, as evidenced by this picture.

Alpine slide

While at the ski resort, we took ski chairs up to the top of the alpine slide and went down the slide. Kevin and Elena went solo. Andrea went with me and Elizabeth went with Elisa. My sister Marci went too, as did my mom.

Mountain fun

We went Saturday up the mountain to a ski resort. Having just moved from an area in the east with little to no mountains of any large size, we are really enjoying having large mountains around. We took the tram up to the top of a mountain and enjoyed the view. We even hiked around a little, but at 11,000 feet, we could tell the difference in altitude when we hiked.
